This study was done for evaluation of dam contractions and hydrology regime change effects of Karoon River on ecology of some part of Khuzestan plain. To study the flow and salinity changes of Karun River, the data for a forty-year period of Karun River, Mollasani station, were used. Also changes in salinity and alkalinity of the soil during summer and in a certain range of Khuzestan plain with an area of around 7,000 hectares, in the downstream of Ahwaz and north of Shadegan marshland, For a period of 25 years, from 1991 to 2016 during the summer during the 1991, 2010 and 2016 were compared. The results show that the salinity was increasing from 1991 atnow. The water quality of Karoon River was decreased intensively and salinity was increased twice under newsituation from 1991 to 2016. On the other hands, soil salinity were increased under this new situation. The soil salinity area with EC more than 30 dS/m increased from 5248 ha (77.2%) at 1991 to 6754 ha (99.3%) at 2016 in 6800 ha. The same trend was observed for sodium absorption ratio)SAR). This EC increasing removed all natural holomorphic plant in this area. Dust haze were produced under this situation after soil was bare. Therefore, human made some problems under this new situation and make high dust haze. Therefore, we must revise in dam construction and hydrology changes strategy for renew ecosystem.
