In this study the Agricultural droughts during the recent half-century was evaluated by the modified ETDI method and compared with the SPI as well as meteorological drought index in the Shahrekord plain. Duration and severity of agricultural droughts in recent half century was estimated by Locuase method too. The results show the estimation of modified ETDI by SPI3 is applicable and almost accurate. Historic agricultural drought analysis support the exsistance of permanent agricultural drought with different severity in the study area. The severity of agricultural droughts during the 50% of the recent half- century were suffered the agricultural activities extremely and in the remain times it was less. A permanent long-term agricultural drought was occurred during 1960-1987, in which agriculture and natural resources were suffered extremely in the Shahrekord Plain. Then drought severity was decreased in 1988-1999; and again it was increased from 2000 up to 2004; and then it was decreased up to 2014. The permanent policy of disaster management of agricultural droughts is essential for whole related governmental organizations and offices by supporting the NGOs’ in the Shahrekord Plain.
