Synonym analysis of water science articles in Scopus and Web of Science databases during the years 2011 to 2021.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to analyze the synonyms of water science articles in Scopus and Web of Science databases during the years 2011 to 2021. The current research is of an applied type and was carried out using the methods of word co-occurrence analysis and social network analysis, and analyzed keywords and identified frequently used topics in the water field. The research community includes 32,849 articles available in Scopus and Web of Science databases in the field of water during the years 2010 to 2021. The census method was used and the whole community was analyzed. SPSS, UCINET, Excel, and PRIMP software were used for data analysis and preparation. The findings showed that more than 80% of the keywords assigned to water articles are two-word or three-word compound words. Results: Finally, the average number of author keywords in both databases is 2.58, the average number of indexed keywords in both databases is 2013, and the total average of author and indexed keywords in both databases is 2.36.
