Abstract
Currently, one of the criteria for determining the scientific ranking/status of countries and the basis of their development in various fields is the amount of their scientific publications and their application by researchers. One of the traditional methods for measuring and evaluating scientific productions is scientometrics. In a general view, scientometrics can be considered as an essential part for evaluating the scientific productions of any specialized field (Karimpour, 2016). Iran has a very good capacity for agriculture with agricultural lands and suitable weather and climate. Therefore, agriculture in Iran is known as the axis of development, as the axis of agricultural development is water. Water plays a vital role in human societies and is one of the infrastructures for the development of economic sectors, and it is also significant in Iran from various dimensions (Heydari, 2014). The current research aims to analyze the synonyms of water science articles in Scopus and Web of Science databases during the years 2011 to 2021.
