Abstract

The flow to the intake has a lot of momentum in the direction of the main channel and because of the intake flow separation occurs. In this research had been performed using obstacles was installed to the two inline and staggered and in two modes with vortex impact caused by the obstacles and the vortex was being reduced and were evaluate the impact of the vortex shedding on the dimension of flow separation zone. According to experimental observations it can be concluded that the placement of obstacles in the form of a staggered formation in the flow path reduces the dimensions of the separation zone in comparison without obstacles. By reducing the impact of vortex caused by obstacles in the staggered formation case, the separation zone dimensions reduced compared with vortex and control modes. In the placement of obstacles in inline case and reduce the impact of vortex, Reducing the separation zone length and increasing its width in case there are no obstacles and vortex occurs.
