Each country's water resources are consumed in four sectors: industry, agriculture, drinking and environment.Estimation of real water content of agricultural products is done through different indicators and it is necessary to consider more effective indicators in the optimal allocation of water resources, one of the most effective of which can be the water footprint index. In this study, to evaluate the status of agricultural products in terms of water consumption from the perspective of water footprint index (WF) for the main dominant crops grown in the Dezful plain was used. In this study, it was found that out of 31.97 million cubic meters of water used during the year to cultivate selected crops, 46.2% is related to the water component, 50.2% is related to the green component and 3.67% is related to the gray component. . Regarding the gray component, which is equivalent to 1.17 million cubic meters per year, it can be said that although this amount of water returns to the water cycle of the region, but reducing water quality is a very important issue that should be addressed in macro-planning. Considered. Despite the production of 1.17 million cubic meters of gray water, the study of environmental sustainability of the region in terms of pollution level showed that the study area is at a stable level according to the WPL index (stability of gray water footprint using water pollution level).
