English

Potato is one of the country's strategic crops that is highly sensitive to irrigation management. On the other hand, Iran is located in an arid region that is facing the challenge of accessing water resources due to the intensification of the negative effects of climate change. Therefore, determining the appropriate and optimal amount of irrigation water that saves water consumption while maintaining the desired level of yield is essential. Greenhouse crops rely on groundwater resources to provide the required water, and unfortunately, many greenhouses are located in forbidden plains and strict considerations must be observed in harvesting groundwater resources. Therefore, determining the water requirement of greenhouse crops and systematic and scientific irrigation management are mandatory. However, currently, in many greenhouses, irrigation is not carried out systematically and a correct basis for irrigation is not considered. The aim of the present study is to compare irrigation based on calculating water requirements with conventional irrigation in a greenhouse. In addition, the effect of differences between different genotypes of a plant in irrigation management has also been considered. Identifying genotypes tolerant to irrigation deficiency and introducing them to farmers and researchers is a suitable solution for increasing irrigation water productivity.
