English

This study was conducted to investigate the accumulation of nitrate and ammonium in the agricultural lands of the Mirza Koochak-khan sugarcane agro-industrial unit using a factorial experiment based on a randomized complete block design with four replications. The main factor was the furrow length (beginning, middle, and end), while the sub-factors included soil depth (0–30, 30–60, and 60–90 cm), fertilization stage (first: 75 kg, second: 150 kg, third: 150 kg), and sampling time (before fertilization, two days, one week, and two weeks after fertilization). The results showed that the highest soil nitrate content (17.49 kg/ha) was observed at the depth of 60–90 cm in the second stage, one week after fertilization. The highest ammonium content (9.06 kg/ha) was detected at the depth of 0–30 cm in the second fertilization stage, two weeks after treatment. Among the three fertilization stages, the second stage showed the maximum nitrate and ammonium levels. Analysis of the sampling times revealed that the highest nitrate content (13.81 kg/ha) occurred one week after the second fertilization, whereas the lowest value (1.47 kg/ha) was recorded before fertilization in the first stage. The greatest ammonium content (5.12 kg/ha) was obtained at the 0–30 cm depth one and two weeks after fertilization. The results indicated that nitrate and ammonium variations along the furrow at different sampling depths followed a uniform trend at the beginning, middle, and end of the furrow.
