The use of submerge vanes is one of the methods of modifying the flow pattern of rivers. The use of gabion submerged vane is of particular importance due to its permeability, easy of installation, low cost and environmental friendliness. Therefore, in this research, the influence of submergence ratio of gabion submerged vanes with different permeability installed on a sand bed is investigated in a laboratory manner.Experiments in a straight flume with 4 different submegence ratios (T/do) of 0.5, 0.6, 0.7 and 0.8 under The hydraulic condition of clear water was done with a flow rate of 24.44 lit/sec. The gabion submerged vane is filled with 4 different permeabilities and is fixed at an angle of 25 degrees to the flow direction. The results showed that in submergemce ratios more than 0.7, the depth of scour and the height of sedimentation bar around the vanes are very small, but these values increase as the submergemce ratio decreases. In a fixed submergemce ratio, the finer the granularity of the vane body material, the greater the depth of the scour hole and the height of the sedimentation bar around the vane. According to results, the performance gabion submerged vanes in clear water is more suitable in sediment management and with an angle of 25 degrees in an submergemce ratio of less than 0.6 and it is recommended in hydraulic conditions. In clear water, such vanes should be installed with an initial height of more than 0.3 of the water depth.
